WiFi Optimization & Interference FAQ

How to configure your home or office router for lowest latency and peak throughput.

In the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, each channel is 20MHz wide, but adjacent channel centers are separated by only 5MHz. Consequently, channels like 2, 3, 4, and 5 bleed into channels 1 and 6, generating co-channel interference and packet collisions. Channels 1, 6, and 11 are spaced exactly 25MHz apart, allowing them to operate simultaneously without overlapping.
